Privacy policy
TTS Reader does not collect personal data. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no server of its own, and the documents you listen to stay on your iPhone.
This policy covers the TTS Reader app for iPhone and this website. TTS Reader is made by Farida Sarsengaliyeva. Questions about privacy: support@ttsreader.app.
In the app
What stays on your iPhone
Everything you add to TTS Reader stays on your device: imported files, pasted text, scanned pages, saved articles, your reading position, settings and listening statistics. Text is turned into speech on the iPhone by voice models that run on the device. We never receive your documents or what you listen to, and there is no copy on any server of ours.
The app’s data is part of your normal iPhone backups, which Apple handles under its own privacy policy. Downloaded voice files are excluded from backup.
When the app goes online
TTS Reader connects to the internet only when you ask it to. These requests go directly from your iPhone to the service named below; they carry your IP address and the usual technical details of an internet request, as any app or browser does, and nothing else from the app.
| What you do | Where the app connects |
|---|---|
| Search the free book catalog | gutendex.com (a public index of Project Gutenberg) |
| Download a catalog book | gutenberg.org |
| Download the optional English voice pack | huggingface.co, where the open voice models are published |
| Import a web article from a link | the website you entered |
| Translate a document | Apple’s Translation feature, which may download language files from Apple |
Those services have their own privacy policies. We do not receive any data from them.
Camera and photos
The camera is used only when you scan a page. Photos and scans are processed on your iPhone with Apple’s text recognition and are not uploaded. When you pick a photo, the app sees only the photos you choose.
What the app does not have
- No account or sign-in.
- No analytics, crash reporting or tracking SDKs, and no advertising identifiers.
- No in-app purchases or payments.
- No sharing or selling of data, because we do not have any.
This matches the App Store privacy label of TTS Reader: Data Not Collected.
If you write to us
If you email support@ttsreader.app, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to answer you. We keep the conversation as long as needed to help you and delete it when you ask.
On this website
This website has no cookies, no advertising and no tracking. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages; like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse. We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.
Children and your rights
TTS Reader does not collect data from anyone, including children. Because we hold no personal data from the app, there is nothing to access, export or delete there: deleting the app removes all its data from your iPhone. For emails you sent us, write to support@ttsreader.app to get a copy or have them deleted.
Changes
If the app ever starts collecting any data, for example with a future paid version, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy label before that version is released, and the date above will change.
